The short version
Your content stays yours; use the tools fairly
Process only content you have the right to process, keep your API keys secret, and don't work around quotas. Pro is billed through Stripe and can be cancelled any time; AI output can be wrong, so check what matters.
GistCite provides tools for extracting YouTube transcripts, extracting text from uploaded documents, manipulating PDF files, generating AI summaries, reading text aloud, and dictating speech to text. Some tools work without an account; others require signing in and consume a monthly usage quota.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your API keys secret. API keys are shown once at creation and can be revoked at any time from the Account page. Anything done with your credentials counts as done by you.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) to create an account.
Use the service only with content you have the right to process. Fetching a transcript or extracting a document does not give you rights to the underlying content — those remain with its owner.
Don't abuse the service: no attempts to circumvent quotas or rate limits, no automated scraping beyond the documented API, no illegal content, and no reselling of the service itself without our written agreement.
The free plan includes a monthly quota of metered operations; the Pro plan raises that quota and is billed as a recurring subscription through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Quotas reset monthly. Failed operations are not counted. You can cancel Pro at any time from the billing portal; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
You keep all rights to the files and text you process. We store extracted results (and cache them by content fingerprint) to power your history and make repeat operations instant; PDF and media file tools run in memory and the files are not stored. Browser text-to-speech playback and microphone dictation run in your browser; neural MP3 export sends submitted text to the configured speech provider and does not persist generated audio.
You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us (see section 9).
AI summaries are generated by a language model and can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. They are provided for convenience, not as professional advice — verify anything that matters.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Third-party platforms (for example YouTube) can change or block access at any time, and we cannot guarantee any particular video or document will be processable.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
